Description Aurélien Murith 2017-02-27 17:23:25 CET
zynaddsubfx default I/O is JACK, which does not give any sound in Mageia. Setting it to ALSA (in "File -> Nio Settings") makes it work fine.

If you run zynaddsubfx as command "zynaddsubfx -I alsa -O alsa", it starts directly with ALSA I/O. I think this should be default settings.

We will not change upstream developers choice here : the main purpose of zynaddsubfx is professional sound, and jackd is THE solution for that with linux.

It is very easy to use in Mageia Cadence to get Jackd running before you launch zynaddsubfx. You will get as bonus the ability to patch sound through all other jackd compatible software we provide.

You can still suggest this change upstream... but I don't believe they will hear you, sorry.
