This is currently breaking usb_modeswitch for the average i586 user, as their umts dongles won't be set to modem mode atomatically on hotplug. It took me several hours to notice that not udev or usb_modeswitch were causing troubles, but a missing tcl interpreter. usb_modeswitch_transponder is _written_ in tcl and dies silently, when there's no interpreter around! This might be a show-stopper for our i586 netbook audience, so 'major' severity is more than appropriate.
