Hm, so that is hw supported by both radeon and amdgpu

Can you try to blacklist radeon to see if that helps.

if it does not help, try to blacklist amdgpu

Sorry, took some while till I got to test this.

Now with Kernel 4.9.16, same problem with default settings.
Unfortunately also no luck with either one blacklisted.

Attached the kernel boot logs for both cases.

Thanks,
Herbert

I forgot to mention, the kernel locks up hard right after the last line of the log files
Comment 7 Herbert Poetzl 2017-05-24 12:49:17 CEST
Still the same with recent kernel 4.9.28.
Both, amdgpu and radeon driver lock up during boot unless I specify nomodeset.

Any progress here? Anything I can test or provide?

Will Mageia 6 only work on older graphics cards?

Thanks,
Herbert

The card seems to work fine with Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS
Note that this is a different motherboard.

BTW, any news on this one?

Thanks,
Herbert
