Other than being scolded about out-of-date XP > anti-malware, no issues noted. This worked fine for several days, but a couple of days ago, after other updates, I could no longer print on either of my HP inkjet printers from Okular. If I selected "Print" from the File menu, Okular would seem to freeze up, similar in appearance to bug #16330 except that it won't even bring up the Print dialog. Gwenview acts the same. I didn't associate this with updates at first. Thinking something I had done caused the problem, I attempted some remedies that failed. So, I eventually re-installed the entire system, yesterday. That worked, or seemed to, with all the current updates and the software I had installed before. Then this morning I installed this kernel once more, and this afternoon the printer won't work with those apps again. This is my production install, and I MUST have the printer working with it, so I am re-installing Mageia 5.1 again. Once that is done, I will install 5.1 on other partitions and play with it to try to learn more. In the meantime, I thought I should bring it up here before we passed the kernel along, as it seems to be what triggers the problem. Perhaps others can check and see if they are affected, or if it's just me.
Please ignore Comment #9, with regard to this update. After yet another new install of 5.1, but without updating the kernel, I still have the printer problem. It must be something that was updated in the last 2-3 days, but not the kernel. Looks like a new bug is in order, once I find out what's going on better. Sorry about that.

Testing M5 x64 real EFI hardware with AMD/ATI/Radeon video Uneventful update to: 4.4.45-desktop-1.mga5 No problems subsequently noted, but for me at least BEWARE that the new kernel did not become the default=first choice from the regenerated Grub2 Mageia menu, but has to be specifically looked for in the 'advanced' Mageia entry.

MCC Hardware reports Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG (Calexico 2). When I setup a machine I by default use drakconnect to give a fixed IP address. I did not really pay attention up to now, but drakconnect detects this Wifi three times: once as wlp1s3 Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG AND as wlp1s3 Manufacturer Realtek RTL8191S WLAN Adapter AND as wlp0s29f7u4 Manufacturer Realtek RTL8191S WLAN Adapter. I configured only the wlp1s3 Intel Pro/Wireless entry, but the net applet shows this one most of the time with my defined IP adress, but every now and then shows wlp0s29f7u4 with another DHCP address from my router, and mostly jumps back to the wlp1s3 after a few seconds. This is not limited to a short time after startup, but keeps happening. I'll check this afternoon if this also happened with the previous kernel.

This behavior is the same with kernel 4.4.39, so this should not stop this update. I will attach the lspcidrake output.

Please disregard this issue with Wifi. I had completely forgotten that - when I was putting this laptop up - I was not so happy with the built in Intel Pro, it regularly dropped the connection. So I plugged in an USB Wifi, and that's the Realtek thingy. As apology: it is a real tiny device, so I litteraly overlooked it. I have to do some searching, I want to disable that Intel/Pro device.
