Description of problem: PlASMA and Chromium Freeze Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): MGA6 and Chromium 55.0.2883.87 How reproducible: kind of random, but if I sit on something like CNN page it eventually freezes (I assume it isn't politically driven to freeze, but I suppose it could be). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open CNN 2. Ignore it on the page 3. able to <ctrl-Alt-F2> to root and reboot. I captured journal, will attach on next update.
Created attachment 8875 [details] Journalctl dump from MGA6. I tried to capture the info when Chromium/Plasma froze. You'll see it towards the bottom of the journal. FYI - it happened on arstechnica as well. Wondering if pop-up event triggered.
Moving this out of the SourceRPM: field: > mageia6-sta2-x86_64-dvd (build 20170119/20) Do you get the freeze, too when using Chromium in another DE? Maybe it's a red herring, but in your logs I see Jan 20 15:27:01 localhost plasmashell[4082]: file:///usr/lib64/qt5/qml/QtQuick/Controls/Button.qml:96: TypeError: Cannot read property of null Jan 20 15:27:02 localhost plasmashell[4082]: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 2 (BadValue), sequence: 6089, resource id: 65011714, major code: 141 (Unknown), minor code: 3 Which is the same error as bug 20119 shows

I'll install on my mga6 Xfce instance and let you know. Different hardware, slower/older, but should be okay.
Created attachment 8886 [details] MGA6_journal_xfce_jan21_22 I didn't see the same lock-up in Xfce. It did slowdown some, but I give that the low hardware (1 GB of ram). Attaching Journal for last two days.

It did slowdown some, but I give > that the low hardware (1 GB of ram). > Thanks, thus assigning to KDE team. (It might be a duplicate of one or more of several other bugs about freezes in Plasma.)
