Description Morgan Leijström 2017-01-20 00:32:51 CET
Copy of terminal where it is started: See attachement

This system is cauldron 64 bit chewing along in production and rolling withe the updates.
Now I just wanted to test openshot. I had openshot-qt alreaduy installed, maybe I tried it in mga 5 from which this system is updated long ago. Did not work so I uninstalled and reinstalled openshot-qt and now it also installed blender, and a couple libs as dep, but still same result.

Kernel 4.9.4-2, etc fully up to date. Using nvidia-latest driver, Plasma.

More specifically the error is

File "/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/openshot_qt/windows/views/timeline_webview.py", line 2526, in __init__
    self.setUrl(QUrl.fromLocalFile(QFileInfo(self.html_path).absoluteFilePath()))
TypeError: setUrl(self, QUrl): argument 1 has unexpected type 'QUrl'

Why I see in your log something who is not in our current Cauldron? we have not pyqt5 version "5.7" but "5.6" and also not qt5 version "5.7.1" but "5.6.1"

        app:INFO qt5 version: 5.7.0
        app:INFO pyqt5 version: 5.7

On my current cauldron *officially" up-to-date openshot-qt works fine!

An error in my previous comment: we have not qt5 version "5.7.0" but "5.6.2"

Very strange. And spooky: I was *thinking* on upgrading qt because of an unrelated problem with another problem but i have not, too much hassle. Now i begin suspecting something is not fully OK with the installation...

all *qt5* packages i have are listed my mageia tools as 5.6.2 , pyqt5 is 5.6

How do openshot read the versions?

I don't know how and I can't help you more :(

I think the best would be a fresh reinstall of Cauldron and maybe some issues will be fixed at the same time.

You are probably right.
Closing it as invalid for now.
Thanks for your quick replies.

Addendum:
Uninstall of python5-qt* and reinstlal of them
(and the few other apps they pulled) was easy and fixed it: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20891#c16
