I imported the package from Mandriva 2010.2. Oliver Burger (my mentor) pushed it to Cauldron, in Core/Release.

We can provide packages, that were in Mdv 2010.1/2 in our updates repositories. But since python-gudev was only added in Mdv backports, it hast to go to our backports repo as soon as they are available.

Closing. The package is in Mageia 2 and won't be added as backports for Mageia 1 unless explicitely requested by a Mageia 1 user.
