Description of problem: [reporting for the record]

This has happened several times now. Totally random when it occurs. No idea what triggers it.  See screen shot of emacs & claws-mail with all text missing; gkrellm missing almost all text.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):  mga5 current


How reproducible:  no known trigger; random


Steps to Reproduce:
1. absolutely no idea.
2. once triggered; logout/login to restore

From the screenshot, I see you're using KDE

please _attach_ 

   ~/.xsession-errors 

(from when you hit this issue, it might get overwritten when you log in again)



Also, what is the output of 

  lspicdrake -v | grep Card


Do you have the same issue when using a different DM or DE? (e.g. lightdm + XFCE)?

I've been a KDE user since the beginning, so never used others.  This problem usually takes several weeks to show up...  I've only rebooted 8 times since the end of May.  I don't keep a log of when I logout/login via the DM; but I'd guess this has happened 4-5 times in the past 3-4 months.  I've been trying to catch some clue -- the first application I notice is claws-mail; but that's because I use it so much, and the problem is more visible. The other applications may only lose text in the [much less noticeable] title bar before other symptoms appear.
