Looks like somehow Anne pulled in a i386 version of the isolinux directory instead of the i586 version that was on the Mageia 5 ISO. And in the isolinux/isolinux.cfg file, there is an extra entry: label i386 kernel i386/vmlinuz append initrd=i386/all.rdz vga=788 splash quiet noiswmd which accounts for the "i386" menu option Ben (and I) see.
