Description of problem:using the i586 C.I .iso on local HDD, booting using boot.iso, and attempting to upgrade a fully updated Mga4.1 on real hardware fails with " "nnn" installation transactions failed" (where "nnn"is a number). a list of failed transactions is listed. attempting to continue the install repeats the above with a lower number of failed transactions. install will eventually fail completely, and will need to be rebooted to continue, but it again fails with " "nnn" installation transactions failed" Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia-5.1-i586-DVD.iso DATE.txt: Mon Nov 7 01:11:39 CET 2016 md5sum: 5855001e5cf8ce71dc8433f10da915b6 sha1sum: ebb82c4b275625ae86658c3a2ab18e6418670f50 sha512sum: 52a0ef47eedc892694baaafd4ecdfba9a1b5c8365fca3d4391b8b94bfaadad8c60532b706b02d5895e6b595c85b143dc6cc183a4b836af8b515ced447f4266e7 How reproducible: every time Steps to Reproduce: 1.save above .iso to HDD, 2.create and update to latest a Mageia 4.1 installation 3.use Boot.iso to start installation using HDD method. 4.choose to upgrade Mageia 4 when offered 5.install will fail with above message

I guess some of this could be remedied by including some additional packages on the ISO, but upgrades using an ISO are never guaranteed to work. If a netinstall upgrade (boot.iso/all.img) doesn't work, then we need to fix that.
I'm not sure we support upgrading from a version that was EOL'ed long ago :-/

Online upgrade of 4.1 to 5.1 using non-free 32 bit boot.iso (HTTP) completes with no issues except for: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19392
