Description of problem: After rsnapshot has completed a backup as hourly.0, I believe that it should run the command "touch hourly.0". This may be because it can take a while to complete hourly.0, and the timestamp when it started is fairly old. I am told that the timestamp is fairly meaningless, anyway. Now, in Cauldron, I am seeing: "[25/Oct/2016:16:15:17] /usr/bin/rsync -a --delete --numeric-ids --relative --delete-excluded --exclude=*.iso* --exclude=/home/doug/.beagle/ --exclude=/home/doug/Download/ --exclude=/home/doug/torrentsdown/ --exclude=/home/doug/jigsaws/ --exclude=/home/doug/.VirtualBox/ --exclude=/home/doug/VirtualBox?VMs/ --exclude=/home/doug/.ccache/ --exclude=/home/doug/.electricsheep/ --exclude=/home/doug/.thumbnails/ --exclude=/home/doug/storage/ /home/doug /media/backup/rsnapshot/hourly.0/localhost/ [25/Oct/2016:16:25:50] mkdir -m 0755 -p /media/backup/rsnapshot/hourly.0/ [25/Oct/2016:16:25:50] /usr/bin/rsnapshot hourly: ERROR: Could not mkpath("/media/backup/rsnapshot/hourly.0/", 0, 0755); [25/Oct/2016:16:25:50] rm -f /var/run/rsnapshot.pid" The program finishes the job, and the backup is complete, then it tries to create hourly.0 again. Naturally, it can't. Because the backup itself is O.K., I rate this bug as low priority. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I just ran rsnapshot from a root prompt in an Xterm. It finished up as it should: [25/Oct/2016:20:19:55] touch /media/backup/rsnapshot/hourly.0/ [25/Oct/2016:20:19:55] rm -f /var/run/rsnapshot.pid [25/Oct/2016:20:19:55] /usr/bin/rsnapshot -v hourly: completed successfully

Closing this as invalid. I had moved my system to another drive, and that installation had quite a few issues. I am now back using the drive I left (everything was still there) and this bug has disappeared.
