Hi,
I'm wondering not to see any PHP 7 package available in MGA6 anymore. Did you plan to leave the old version??
Is it possible to have two versions of php of which to choose? Even if php 5.6 is still supported, php 7 is state of the art, so a new release should at least have the possibility to update this package if you don't want to do this automatically because of incompabilities.

Last we checked there were too many compatibility issues. It has never been determined that we could safely move to php7. It's too difficult to package both of them without causing problems and conflicts, and we can't maintain two of them for Mageia 6 anyway. We'll move to PHP7 for Mageia 7.

Sorry to ask you again - but that means no php7 until end of 2018?
It is not possible to have the already built packages of php7 in testing? If we don't have the package available it is hard for developers to migrate their applications to php7.

Please don't re-open bugs like that.

Mageia 6 will have DNF and COPR support (a feature of Fedora's Koji build system, similar to Ubuntu PPA's, but with a bit more centralization), so it's possible that someone could make a PHP7 COPR for Mageia 6.

Any further questions about this should be directed to the dev mailing list.

Any ETA for this? PHP 7.1 has an interesting performance boost compared to 5.6.

Unfortunately, no. We lost both PHP maintainers during the Mageia 6 cycle. We need a new PHP maintainer. Oden's initial work in packaging PHP 7 should still be in SVN somewhere.
