Description of problem: A full install of M6 yesterday tells me that we've graduated from Openshot 1.4.3 to Openshot 2.1. Note: I'm actually a long time supporter of Jonathan Thomas and the entire Openshot program and have actually financially contributed. Having said that Openshot 1.4.3, with all its warts, continues to be the best and easiest to use WYSIWYG video editor we have. 2.1 has a lot of promise but it does come with even more warts then 1.4.3 does. Is there a way to include 1.4.3 as an option for M6? At least until 2.1 settles down? Example: the video editing time line on 1.4.3 goes down to 1 sec while 2.1 goes down only to 8 sec. It's an outstanding bug for now.
Assigning to all packagers collectively, since there is no registered maintainer for openshot. @ William Please give the link to the "outstanding bug".

Hi William Kenney, Ok this is very bad :( So I'll revert back the release 1.4.3 of "openshot" in cauldron and also imported in a separate "openshot-qt" package the new release 2.1.0 for users who will test and use this release.

You are the best David. Yes, Lets make 2.1.0 available for those who want to tinker with it and actually use it. I wouldn't be surprised at all that during the release cycle if M6 OpenShot 2.x becomes our 1st choice for WYSIWYG video editors. Thanks
So openshot-1.4.3 is back and openshot-qt-2.1.0 is imported on Cauldron.

Today OpenShot 2.2.0 was released, it fixes bugs and adds some features. Couldnt test it yet but tried some snapshots before which worked better than 2.1.0 (release).

I'll take a long look at it today. Thanks
Note : its not in cauldron... its avaiable from the OpenShot Homepage. Iam not an maintainer.
Oh OK. IMO we should maintain both of these releases of Openshot through the life of M6. Then when Openshot Ver 2.x settles go with it in M7.
Tried cauldron openshot-qt version: 2.2.0: it get an unhandled exception at launch. I observed it say in console from it was launched a lot of things but notably "qt5 version: 5.7.0", but we have 5.6.2. Compiled for wrong qt version? As we have it and it crash, i change from enhancement to major and reopen. It is now at version 2.3.4. I downloaded the appimage from http://www.openshot.org/download/, chmod +x, and run it. Quick check: Looks nice :) Have you tried it William?

(In reply to Morgan Leijström from comment #9) > Have you tried it William? No I have not and thanks for taking a look at it. My first question is can we update this to ver 2.3.4 after M6 is released. We're headed for a freeze on the 4th and I wouldn't want to hold that up for this. I suspect that we can. OpenShot 2.x has been in the works about as long as M6 has been. A lot of promise here and certainly will be the best NLE (N)on (L)inear (Video) (E)ditor on Mageia, if not all of Linux. I've been pretty overwhelmed with testing M6 and haven't really had time to tinker with it. I'm waiting for M6 to be officially released and OpenShot 2.3.4 to become part of it. I'll give OpenShot AppImage a try.
Sorry, i did not see there is a newer bug on this matter. So closing this again in favor of bug 20891 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 20891 ***
