to note, kdm is now missing from the system, removed by an update .. putting it back seems to bring kde4 packages, but i was running kde5 for a long time now. I could install task-plasma5 packages , but i don't see kdm in the dependencies..

Please report one bug per issue. kdm is replaced by sddm and kde by plasmap gnome is currently in a unstable state (not completly updated to new version yet) I will close this bug as invalid.

thanks for the good tips; re installed sddm and plasma-workspace and edited sysconfig/desktop to use sddm and plasma and now it works again, back in kde ... five :-)
