Since recently (but it began before the upgrade to 5.2), LibreOffice fails to open my files. It has been confirmed to me by Neoclust too. It tries opening the file but kind of hangs and I have to kill it. If the bug can't be reproduced by the maintainers I'll provide any needed useful debug information (strace output for example?).

It works for me (using GNOME). What desktop are you using?

I'm using Plasma and I bet Neoclust too.
Is libreoffice-kde4 installed? If yes, what if ou uninstall it? If no, what if ou install it?
Source RPM: libreoffice => libreoffice-5.2.2.1-1.mga6
Created attachment 8439 [details] strace output libreoffice-kde4 was installed but removing it changed nothing. Here is the output of strace if it can help.

Also Plasma 5 desktop here and LibreOffice fails to open my files if I start it and use Fail -> Open or klick a file in Dolphin file manager. However - opening attachments in Thunderbird with Libreoffice works just fine. Libreoffice Versioon: 5.2.2.1 from /core/updates/testing here and using it with gtk2 frontend.

The same with 5.2.2.2-1.mga6
Have you tried the gtk3 frontend? What's the output of the "rpm -qa libreoffice-[gkx]*"?
Source RPM: libreoffice-5.2.2.1-1.mga6 => libreoffice-5.2.2.2-1.mga6
$ rpm -qa libreoffice-[gkx]* libreoffice-graphicfilter-5.2.2.2-1.mga6 libreoffice-xsltfilter-5.2.2.2-1.mga6 libreoffice-x11-5.2.2.2-1.mga6 libreoffice-gtk2-5.2.2.2-1.mga6 libreoffice-gtk3-5.2.2.2-1.mga6 I'm using "export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk" in .bash_profile to use gtk2 frontend as gtk3 frontend does not "play" well with breeze(-gtk) theme: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18442#c3 So removing that makes use of (default) gtk3 frontend and that makes no difference in the opening of files...
Sometime in the last few updates: Opening Libreoffice results in the following error message: "KDEInit could not launch 'libreoffice': Could not open library 'libkdeinit5_libreoffice'. Cannot load library libkdeinit5_libreoffice: (libkdeinit5_libreoffice: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory) Libreoffice apps are no longer in the launch office menu." Same problem as this?

No, I don't think it's the same problem. Here Libreoffice does start, it just hangs while opening the file. Note that sometimes it works after a reboot and I can't tell what's difference with when it doesn't.

In the last few days it worked here, can others confirm?
I'm not having any problems starting OO or creating/opening a file with OO. What I described in Comment 9 is still true.
Recently I have had no problems opening Libreoffice files when running Plasma Desktop. Seems to be fixed?...
Same here. We don't know what the problem was but it's gone. Closing.

if tt's fixed, then we should revert the January change and install libreoffice-kde4 again under Plasma...
