Yes. There all maintenance releases.
Ahmad, from the svn log I guess you are the maintainer, assigning to you :)

I am not the virtualbox maintainer (if I were I'd have set myself as the maintainer already).

I think the "fixed USB 2.0 support using extension packs for non-official builds" is very valuable. Whoever the maintainer is, please release the 4.0.12 RPM. :)
Yesterday Oracle released VirtualBox 4.1.0, a major update, just four days after 4.0.12. See the changelog at the same URL posted by Dave Hodgins above. At this rate, it's going to be very difficult for the maintainer to keep up.

For Mageia 1, we should stand on the 4.0.x branch, in case it's planned to backport new releases.
We can probably have the 4.0.x releases in updates and further releases in backports, but only if backporting virtualbox doesn't need lib backports too.

In case someone has 4.1.0 in mind, you must know that this version triggers a kernel panic: http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/9260 http://lpsolit.wordpress.com/2011/07/23/your-pc-doesnt-shutdown-correctly-anymore-uninstall-virtualbox-4-1-0/
Virtualbox 4.0.14 is in testing. Thanks Thomas. :) Packages ok for the QA ?

Well you can start testing, but not push it yet. I still need to check how the Mageia images in the GUI look, and maybe update them to better ones. I'll verify tonight and either push a new package or notify that i'm ok with them.

Ok, so I added better icons, and fixed so they are actually used. So now it's ready to pass through QA. The package to test is: virtualbox-4.0.14-1.2.mga1 (just submitted to the bs) Suggested advisory: --- This update provides the latest upstream maintenance release for the 4.0 series. It adds several fixes all over. For more info of all fixes, please read: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Changelog-4.0 It also adds Mageia icons and support in the GUI. (#1334) --- For QA: - test that install/upgrade works. - verify that older virtual disks/systems still work. - try to install new virtual machines. - check that when you start to create a new virtual machine, it lists Mageia and Mageia (64 bit) in os list and that the matching icons are shown.

I have reported this bug to upstream: https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/9798 "Can't download the VirtualBox Guest Additions CD " for the rest all is ok (x86_64)
I've installed virtualbox on a Mageia 1 host, and virtualbox-guest-additions in a Mageia 1 guest. With the extpack from http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.0.14/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.0.14-74382.vbox-extpack installed, tested sound, usb, copy/paste in both directions between the host and guest. Update validated. Can someone from the sysadmin team push the srpm virtualbox-4.0.14-1.2.mga1.src.rpm from Core Updates Testing to Core Updates. Advisory: This update provides the latest upstream maintenance release for the 4.0 series. It adds several fixes all over. For more info of all fixes, please read: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Changelog-4.0 It also adds Mageia icons and support in the GUI. (#1334) https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1940

Unvalidating for now. I'll try to fix the bug noticed in comment 14. It's fixed in the 4.1 branch, so it should not be hard to track down.

There is now a virtualbox-4.0.14-1.3.mga1 to test. It fixes the bug noticed in comment 14. So for QA: - verify that it can download the VirtualBox Guest Additions CD - verify that installing/using virtualbox-guest-additions still works.
Whaou you were fast. :) Seems ok for me.
Testing complete on i586 for the srpm virtualbox-4.0.14-1.3.mga1.src.rpm This time, I used an XP guest, to install the guest additions. The URL is correct. The only problem I encountered, clearly an upstream bug, was a warning message from windows when connecting a usb drive, that I would get better performance if I connected the drive to a usb 2.0 port. I've never seen that before, and the transfer speed does indicate it's using a usb 1.0 speed. The use of usb 2.0 is selected in the guest's preferences.
The warning about usb is "normal". The USB 2.0 support is provided by the: VirtualBox 4.1.4 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack and that is something the enduser have to download/install .
Ok, so I guess this can be considered as validated.
Revalidating based on comment 18 and comment 19 Update pushed.
