Description Samuel Verschelde 2016-09-15 21:45:53 CEST
The function keys for changing luminosity do cause an action: I can raise or lower the intensity level. But it has no effect on the actual screen intensity.

How can I find the culprit?

Confirmed on my laptop (which is by the way similar to Samuel's, both MSI gaming laptops).

It used to work and broke 1-2 months ago or so, but I forgot to report it back then.

Here (ThinkPas SL510, intel 810 and later video card) those function keys work fine.

However, changing brightness with the slider in the Plasma5 System Settings - Power Management - Energy Saving (or whatever it's called) screen, has not effect at all

This issue got resolved recently for me with the 5.8.0 updates. Is it also fixed for you Samuel?
