No matter what user i try, it just fail.
(BTW i dont understand how to see what DE it tries to start, or how to choose, i have several installed)

Of the other DM i have installed:
LXDM and LightDM works.
SDDM only logs into Mate ( Bug 19319 )

Assigning to all packagers as xdm has no registered maintainer, and also CC'ing drakx* maintainers as it might be another symptom of drakdm issues when configuring DMs.

Yes there seem to be problem with most managers.
I now installed gnome on this system, and GDM can log into gnome but not into plasma whichever of the two(!) plasma entries i choose.
So probably not problem with the DM managers, but with configuring them.

Last Friday (2016-09-02) made a minimal install with X and at first boot I got XDM up and was able to successfully log into IceWM...

Yes, we were working with the xinitrc package, and there was a temporary breakage that broke logging in from xdm, but I fixed it and confirmed it was working (logging into IceWM) when we left it.

Please make sure your mirror is up to date.

Tried now on fresh install, Works :)
