Description of problem: konsole does not save settings. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): konsole 16.04.3-1 plasma 5.7.3 How reproducible: mga6 sta1 vbox installed along with all updates to current. Open konsole; choose settings -> edit current profile; and make setting changes and click Apply. I changed theme to black on yellow and increased scrollback lines. I also opened four tabs instead of the usual one. When konsole is next launched none of these settings have been preserved. Steps to Reproduce: 1. open konsole 2. settings -> edit current profile 3. make changes to theme and scrollback 4. click Apply 5. restart konsole to find no settings have been preserved
Strange, after makes these changes a few times all but the number of konsole tabs open do eventually 'stick' even through a reboot. It took making them three or four times on my vbox install before the theme and scrollback were persistent. The hardware install I had to repeat the settings only twice IIRC. But so far nothing has made konsole remember the number of tabs open like kde4 on mga5 does. Hope this wasn't a semi false alarm.
New install via boot-nonfree.iso. I can no longer duplicate failure to save theme or scrollback kinds of settings. Konsole still does not retain the number of open tabs over a reboot or even just closing and reopening konsole. Looks like the tab thing might be upsteam Bug 347051?
Err... make that Bug 346768.

On my latest Virtualbox installation (boot-nonfree) no amount of konsole setting changes are ever kept. Theme and scrollback lines are the two I have to modify every time I reboot this VM. They are never retained. All updates applied as of a few minutes ago.

This problem was resolved when the plasma session fix was implemented a few weeks ago.
