The following three wifi modules used to work with Mageia5/3.19.8: * 08:00.0 Ethernet controller: Qualcomm Atheros AR242x / AR542x Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 11) * Bus 002 Device 006: ID 07d1:3c0a D-Link System DWA-140 RangeBooster N Adapter(rev.B2) [Ralink RT3072] * Bus 002 Device 013: ID 148f:2573 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2501/RT2573 Wireless Adapter With Mageia6-sta1/4.6.3 at least the Atheros module is known to fail (tested with live media). All three modules have also failed with Arch/4.4.0. I am currently trying to get out more by compiling kernel 4.1.0 for Mageia5 and see whether that works or whether I can reproduce the bug. Besides this I have been asked to file upstreams at bugzilla.kernel.org; going to leave a reference of the upstream report here.
Target Milestone: --- => Mageia 6
upstream bug is: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153481
Assigning to all packagers collectively, since the registered maintainer for this went MIA. @ Elmar Do you have a link to the conversation where you were asked to file a bug upstream?

I don`t know your release plan but I believe we should approach a fix here into the final release as well; some people who do not have cabled ethernet may want to update over WLAN and thus get annoyed as well if so many Wifi adapters do not work. P.S.: Marja; have you received my mail forwarded from Ingvar Thorvald? In spite of this I can not guarantee for the bug to get resolved quickly upstreams as I do not know about the priorities of kernel developers at bugzilla.kernel.org.
reassigning, now that we have a kernel packagers group
