Description Frank Griffin 2016-08-16 18:34:24 CEST
If you boot the current boot-nonfree.iso in rescue mode and then try to shut down with either "reboot" or "systemctl reboot", you get the following error:

"Failed to start reboot.target. Transaction contains conflicting jobs 'stop' and 'start'for systemd-reboot.service. Probably conflicting requirement dependencies configured."

No reboot is done. If you then do ALT-SysRq-E you get a loop with "Looping too fast, slowing (it) down" messages.

(Note that you can reboot from the rescue menu)

Source RPM: systemd => systemd, drakx-installer-rescue

I don't know whom to assign this bug to: Thierry didn't assign to himself, Colin seems almost MIA (sorry, Col, you might still contribute a lot more than I notice, and even if you don't: I know you've got a family, a company to keep going and more OS projects to contribute to)

Even if systemd is involved, it might still be the rescue code that needs to be adjusted.

Assigning to Thierry. Please do reassign if that was wrong!

Btw, is "Installer" the right component here?

I wondered about that, but Rescue doesn't have its own category and it isn't used in a running system...
Comment 4 Thierry Vignaud 2016-08-17 14:19:42 CEST
That's fine.
BTW I'm sharing a "drakx-installer-rescue" saved query under https://bugs.mageia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=saved-searches for those interested.

Colin, can you look at it since you did the (nice) job of switing to systemd:

Works fine with current cauldron, either from the rescue menu or from the rescue command line
