Description Barry Jackson 2016-08-04 15:18:29 CEST
Description of problem:
Dialog boxes are only visible while the mouse is hovering over the task bar item related to that dialog. As soon as the mouse is moved away, the dialog vanishes making it almost (but not quite) impossible to click a button in the dialog.
Example is when a package has no signature and a dialog asks whether or not to install, another is the dialog that shows the progress of installs during update.

That would be a bug of whatever theme you're using

No idea - it's whatever enlightenment defaults to.

I came across this in a net install after selecting no particular DE.
Enlightenment appeared on first boot and the issues were apparent on trying to use mcc to install a test package.

@ Barry

please run "drakbug" and tell what the theme name is that appears at the top of the screen, in the white field.

I will try, but that drive is no longer in the machine - I have been moving everything to a new replacement SSD since my original failed.

Maybe do it tonight. :)

Got it.

Used theme: Adwaita

It's not only drak* that has the issue. Opening a non-maximized terminal over Firefox exhibits the same. In fact it seems to apply to all programs that open non-maximized.

The terminal opens, but as you move the mouse from the panel from where it was launched the terminal window closes unless you move the mouse really fast and catch it first.

It does not happen to maximized windows only smaller windows are losing focus and closing.

Comment 6 Barry Jackson 2016-08-05 15:15:11 CEST
Note it only happens when a non-maximized window is opened over another maximized one on the same desktop.

To replicate:

Open a terminal
Maximize it
open pidgin (default on panel)
move mouse towards the dialog that opens and it will vanish/close/hide.

Assigning to all packagers collectively, since there is no registered maintainer for e and gtk+3.0
