Description of problem: Last day am trying variuos installs of MSWin7Pro64sp1 on my intel i7 8GB workstation running cauldron 64 bit. virtualbox-kernel-4.7.0-desktop-2.mga6 5.1.2-3.mga6 # uname -r 4.7.0-desktop-2.mga6 Problem is that the guest occasionally crashes; VirtualBox Manager show for that machine it is "Interrupted" (direct translation from swedish) It seem to be almost only when windows is closing; (i.e typically when it is into installing/preparing updates during shutdown...) Here are three crashes since last host reboot: [root@svarten ~]# journalctl -ab | grep virtual aug 01 22:48:57 svarten kernel: Booting paravirtualized kernel on bare hardware aug 01 22:49:08 svarten virtualbox[1318]: Startar virtualbox-demon: [ OK ] aug 01 22:49:08 svarten audit[1]: SERVICE_START pid=1 uid=0 auid=4294967295 ses=4294967295 msg='unit=virtualbox comm="systemd" exe="/usr/lib/systemd/systemd" hostname=? addr=? terminal=? res=success' aug 01 22:52:15 svarten audit[4194]: ANOM_ABEND auid=4294967295 uid=10704 gid=10790 ses=4294967295 pid=4194 comm="EMT-1" exe="/usr/lib64/virtualbox/VirtualBox" sig=11 aug 01 22:52:15 svarten kernel: audit: type=1701 audit(1470084735.475:199): auid=4294967295 uid=10704 gid=10790 ses=4294967295 pid=4194 comm="EMT-1" exe="/usr/lib64/virtualbox/VirtualBox" sig=11 aug 02 00:11:03 svarten drakrpm[9780]: running: rpm -ql virtualbox-doc-5.1.2-1.mga6.noarch aug 02 00:11:03 svarten drakrpm[9780]: running: rpm -q --qf '%{description}' virtualbox-doc-5.1.2-1.mga6.noarch aug 02 00:11:03 svarten drakrpm[9780]: running: rpm -q --changelog virtualbox-doc-5.1.2-1.mga6.noarch aug 02 03:09:47 svarten audit[18383]: ANOM_ABEND auid=4294967295 uid=10704 gid=10790 ses=4294967295 pid=18383 comm="EMT-1" exe="/usr/lib64/virtualbox/VirtualBox" sig=11 aug 02 03:09:48 svarten kernel: audit: type=1701 audit(1470100187.817:246): auid=4294967295 uid=10704 gid=10790 ses=4294967295 pid=18383 comm="EMT-1" exe="/usr/lib64/virtualbox/VirtualBox" sig=11 aug 02 10:03:09 svarten audit[17442]: ANOM_ABEND auid=4294967295 uid=10704 gid=10790 ses=4294967295 pid=17442 comm="EMT-1" exe="/usr/lib64/virtualbox/VirtualBox" sig=11 aug 02 10:03:09 svarten kernel: audit: type=1701 audit(1470124989.366:298): auid=4294967295 uid=10704 gid=10790 ses=4294967295 pid=17442 comm="EMT-1" exe="/usr/lib64/virtualbox/VirtualBox" sig=11 The virtual machine settings: 2CPU (in total with boinc set to max 7CPU that is more than total CPU used, but i suppose boinc will release, or kernel handle that?) 100% CPU max use, 1GBRAM, [x] PAE/NX, Paravirtualization:standard, [x] VT-x/AMV-v, [x] Nested Paging Real disk is an SSD, virtual disk is dynamic .vdi, placed in my /home which is in an unencrypted LVM, host set to see it as SATA AHCI SSD drive. Forgot to tell extpack is installed in virtualbox and guest system. Folder share read/write. Bidirectional drag&drop and clipboard as well as USB2 working. Sometimes i can install whole W7SP1 including a couple updates plus, extpack, plus the april huge convenience rollup. Sometimes it hit during reboot before that, and i think once it hit while Windows just sat there while i did nothing to it, but it may have been working hard under the hood (i.e precompiling .NET after the updates).

Observation: I have now reduced BOINC to use only max 5 of the 8 (Intel i7) cpu, and updated the windows machines, which are set to 2 cpu each. Only one crash in several hours and it did _not_ happen when two virtual machines were running at high load both, but when only one were running in total and at light load. Also i have NOT seen it crashing under high continuous load (updating etc), but always typically when just clicking in an idle machines window, or immediately when i command it by windows start menu to shut down. Currently it is so seldom it is not a problem in my kind of casual use of an odd windows program, but for others it may be unacceptable.
I use virtualbox seldom ( but it could be more often if it was stable ;) ) Now with 5.1.4 it is possibly slightly worse, but it is not until now i use it with USB (USB2). This is one of the same test installations i made with MSW7pro 64bit, now started again in updated virtualbox, and updated vboxadditions from virtualbox site. It seem to often (but mostly not) happen when i connect it with USB and windows responds with that connect sound. It also often happen when updater runs (i am afraid it may wreck the system then...) The client window immediately disappear and virtualbox display machine status as "interrupted". It seem to happen even with BOINC suspended and no other load Host: mga6, 64bit, kernel 4.7.3-desktop-1.mga6, on Intel i7, 8GB RAM

I think kernel maintainers is appropriate to assign this bug to? Is there some log that would be useful? how, where, what to look for?

It would be good to test with VirtualBox 5.1.6
