Description Wim Coulier 2016-07-27 22:45:37 CEST
Description of problem: The HP Envy x360 15-aq015nd is a 2-in-1 laptop. The screen can be rotated over 360 degrees. In Windows the keyboard is automatically deactivated when the screen is fully rotated backwards, so that no keys will be activated by accident when you lay the laptop in tablet mode on your lap. This does not happen in Mga (neither in Plasma or Gnome), making the device useless in tablet mode.

Assigning to KDE team, to see whether they agree Plasma 5 should handle this.

If they agree, then Gnome should be able to handle this, too, so then this bug needs to be cloned for Gnome.

Unsure if this is still relevant. I don't have such hardware to test.

I have read somewhere on Plasma/KDE release notes that disabling keyboard while such device is still present in system should be done by a driver or a kill-switch because of x11 server limitation.

Now, taking this. @reporter, is this still the case?

Reporter, could you please reply to the previous question? If you don't reply within two weeks from now, I will have to close this bug as OLD. Thank you.

Unsure if this is still valid.
Reported against Cauldron in 2016-07... Assigning against Mageia 8 for now.

This is a driver issue, not a desktop issue.
Assigning accordingly.

Meanwhile, I will follow and I'll close this within 2 weeks if there is not any answer.
