Description Max Perl 2016-07-27 11:38:18 CEST
Description of problem:

I wanted to ask, whether I can add a package to Mageia. Everybody, who uses GNOME with a touchscreen, knows, that the on screen keyboard only pops up, when a Gtk3 Entry widget or something similar is focused. At non Gtk3 Apps (like Firefox, Chromium etc) you cannot use the on screen keyboard!

There are some good solutions for that problem (for example see https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/993/slide-for-keyboard/)

I have written a little perl script as solution, too. For me a button is easier to use than the slide. And I would prefer a solution that is installable through the Mageia package system.

It would be great if you can add the package for this little script to Mageia. I have still made rpms under https://github.com/MaxPerl/caribou_button/tree/master/rpmbuild

Unfortunately the Mageia package system doesn't recognize that this is a Application with a graphical user interface. How can I set up this?

Thx for the report, Max

I hope someone will review & enhance your spec file
https://github.com/MaxPerl/caribou_button/blob/master/rpmbuild/SPECS/perl-App-cariboubutton.spec
and package your script.

Assigning to all packagers collectively
