The Spec for the Old Package Version - OpenSUSE Build Service

Xiphos is one of the best Bible Software I have used, and I used it frequently in Mandriva 2010.2. Adding Xiphos to Mageia's package collection would benefit all those who wish to use the Sword Project's library and modules.

@ Gamaliel

You might be interested to know that Bibletime (see bug 1657) is already available in cauldron and is now in updates testing for Mageia 1

Hello,

I would like to see Xiphos added to Mageia 4.

I know Bibletime is already available and it is a good program but I found Xiphos to be better and has very good tools handy.

The Xiphos search is easy to use, it also has Comentaries, Dicctionaries, Glossaries, maps, images and more just by clicking on it.

Regards

Hello,I'd like xiphos added to mageia 5.

Xiphos has a better search mechanism and sometimes gets some search results better than bibletime. It also lets you copy more than more scripture at a time.
Bibletime does not.

It has a few other features that bibletime doesn't have. It's the only thing that I need that you don't have in the repositories.

If you would add it, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager

FWIW, xiphos was imported in 2012 but never built.
