Description of problem: As I visited the XDA-developers forum I found out that it's possible to run DEBIAN on SonyEricsson Xperia x10 & I thought........ HEY, would it be possible to run Mageia with the same instructions? debootstrap is used in the script at the beginning so I really need it. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.0.29 How reproducible: Have just found out that it isn't included in Mageia repos.
This could be found here: git://git.debian.org/d-i/debootstrap.git or here: http://git.debian.org/?p=d-i/debootstrap.git

I see this instructions is for Debian, but I think this gives you a picture of what I'm after.
debootstrap was imported in cauldron
@ oliver This request was made for Mga 1, would it be easy for you to package it for 1, too, or must the reporter wait till Mga 2 is released to have it in Mga stable?

If I can remember, I'll do it A.S.A.P.
Since it was in Mdv (iirc) it can be pushed to 1/updates_testing. But it won't help. Debootstrap is a tool for creating a Debian (or a Debian derivative) chroot system. It won't work on a rpm based distro like Mageia.

Well.....People might want to use Mageia to do this. If NOT..... What is it doing in Cauldron at all?
It is a tool you can use to create a Debian chroot on a Mageia system (on any system to be honest). There are reasons to do that (I need it myself, that's why I imported it) and there is no reason not to have it on Mageia.
debootstrap doesn't work for rpm based distros
