Details

Description Len Lawrence 2016-06-30 19:31:32 CEST
Description of problem:
The installation runs through stage 1 (the localization and licence agreement section) and goes through a short period of screens and test messages flashing past before settling on a white screen with a rectangular black panel at the centre and a live mouse cursor. Nothing else happens after that but it was possible to access tty3 and examine the Live filesystem and the underlying host partitions. Unsure of what diagnostics to provide. Could not find an install log so dumped the journal to a USB drive. Attaching the journal, for what it's worth.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Mageia-6-sta1-LiveDVD-PLASMA5-x86_64-DVD.iso

How reproducible:
It has happened on two different machines, both with nvidia graphics, one with CSM boot, the other UEFI. Identical behaviour.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Mount Plasma5 Live iso
2. Boot from it
3. Choose to install Cauldron

Oops. It has been pointed out that this is a known issue for which tmb has issued a notice. I guess the correct thing is to mark this as invalid or maybe duplicate.

Status: NEW => RESOLVED
