Description of problem: This is more of a comment then anything else. Now that I have a stable M6 x86_64 Plasma install on hardware ( nvidia ) I've had some time to position my various launch icons on the desktop. Simple things like Home, Firefox, Filezilla, Konsole, Kwrite. I have found that Plasma is no where near as easy to deal with then the previous KDE desktop is/was. Simply dragging an icon from the menu and placing it somewhere on the desktop is easy enough. But (re)sizing, renaming ( impossible to do ) and positioning that icon is an exercise in frustration. Hopefully as we move along with this things will get better. Or is this a feature/function of Plasma? Otherwise the install is quite stable and updating.

I currently have 43 shortcuts on my desktop. You might look at bug 17750 and bug 17749. I have found changing desktop fonts a method of getting closer to a mga5 lookalike.

No problem here to resize an icon but I confirm renaming is impossible to do.

You resize or move an icon by clicking with the left button of them mouse and hold the click for a moment. Then the familiar menu will appear. You get the old behaviour by right clicking on the desktop -> Desktop Settings -> Tweaks and uncheck the button "Press and hold widgets ..." I did not test it so far, but I read that renaming an icon is only possible in the "Folder View". You'll have to add the widget "Folder View" to your desktop. Hope that helps, Ulrich aka Bequimão
In "Folder view" you can rename the icons of the files/folders that are in the actual folder (chosen in "Location") but you still can't rename the other icons/widgets you added eg from the menu.
The latest iso's released on 07/15/16 this appears to no longer be a problem. Setting this bug to resolved.
