Description of problem: A couple of problems with the new interface of drakrpm (and possibly other Mageia tools), when using a touchscreen. ___ Scrollbars ___ It might take 2-3 attempts to grab the scrollbar, or you might not be able to grab it at all. Because the scrollbars have this feature of auto-disappearing, in order to make them appear, you have to touch where they are. But, by doing that, first you select what is in this place (if that object is selectable). Example 1: + In IceWM. Do a search, in drakrpm. A list of packages will be created. To make the scroll bar show itself, you need to touch on the right side of this list. But, by doing that, you select an rpm package. Result: some .xml file with information gets downloaded. + In MATE. DO a searhc, etc. ... I could only make the scroll bar appear. I could not make it move up and down. Also, some scroll bar arrows, that are there in MATE (and do not exist in IceWM), don't seem to work by touch. Example 2: Open drakrpm. The categories tree has no scroll bar. Touch on its right side to make the scroll bar appear. Oops. You just selected a category. ___ Dropdown menus ___ You can expand dropdown menus, but you can't change the selection. Example 3: Open drakrpm. Touch to use the dropdown menu on the left (the one that says: "All", "Metapackages", "All updates", etc). It will expand, but dragging will not change the selection (like it would in Mageia 5). Releasing will make the menu go back in its original state. No way to change it through the touch screen. ___ And just an observation of mine ___ Why does the it need to be so complicated? What ever happened to K.I.S.S. ? How reproducible: everytime
This really is a gtk+3 bug
