I noticed that selecting boinc-client in Mageia software manager does not request boinc-client library as a dependency, but it is required. You might also want to include the library as part of the dependency for the boinc-manager too, but fortunately, it correctly does request boinc-client, so it might be seen as duplicate request. This is NOT an installer bug but a packaging issue with boinc

On a fresh Mageia 7, i installed boinc-client and boinc-manager and it just works. boinc-client-7.14.2-3.mga7.src.rpm Closing this as fixed. Please repoen if that was wrong, and provide which package name should be requested - I dont find a boinc library package.
