Description of problem: My install was via i586 boot_non_free.iso using the i586.iso stored on a local HDD chose "custom disk partitioning" chose "plasma"from the 3 option window install proceeded with 1099 packages selected at configuration, "graphical interface" was "not configured" chose to configure - added 77 packages set other personal preferences, installed bootloader, and rebooted chose new install from Grub2 menu. boot up halts with ""Sorry, but there has been a problem starting your graphical display.... Good luck :)....press any key." advises to run drakx11 at prompt login as root. start drakx11 - (no different from end of install) add online media (urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist http://mirrors.mageia.org/api/mageia.6.i586.list') add software "urpmi task-plasma5" (670 packages, includes sddm) at completion, run: systemctl default presents sddm login screen at desktop firefox missing, add via urpmi Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia-6-sta1-i586-DVD.iso Mageia-6-sta1-x86_64-DVD.iso ( advised by others ) DATE.txt: Mon Jun 6 23:20:56 CEST 2016 How reproducible:every time Steps to Reproduce: 1.install Plasma5 only DE from above .isos 2.reboot 3.follow above instructions

@ Thierry In the stage1 part of the logs, there are 16 lines of: * LOOP_GET_STATUS(unexpected error): Value too large for defined data type Do they reveal the root of the problem?

That's unrelated (stage1 isn't in charge of installing packages). Those're just warnings as stage1 tried different ISOs. Besides, packages do got installed. The real issue is that KDE -> Plasma switch wasn't properly done...
