Description of problem:Audacity "vu" meter when playing back a file is "normal". if the playback volume is changed to less than 100%, the "vu" meter displays full. if the playback volume is returned to 100%, the "vu" meter behaves normally again Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia-6-sta1-i586-DVD.iso DATE.txt: Fri May 20 15:04:58 CEST 2016 How reproducible:every time Steps to Reproduce: 1.install all DE from above .iso and reboot 2.login to Plasma DE and set online repos and update 3.invoke Audacity and open a playable file. note "vu" meter operation 4.adjust playback volume to less than 100%. note the "vu" meter displays full ("0 dB") 5. return playback volume to 100% and note "vu" meter operation returns to normal

after update to audacity-2.1.2-4.mga6.i586 adjusting playback level to less than 99% causes the "uv meter"to display no output, but audio is from speaker

Maybe you can ask them? It could also be interesting if you try to adjust playback level directly in the desktop mixer.
