A grub prompt? Then it might be the iso uses grub2-2.02-0.git10270.5.mga6 or grub2-2.02-0.git10270.6.mga6 which are affected by bug 18380

I assume this got fixed with the new traditional isos from 3 days ago?
(In reply to Marja van Waes from comment #2) > I assume this got fixed with the new traditional isos from 3 days ago? I have only checked the i586 at present from optical (DVD) boot Hard disk is ok, from USB boot Hard disk fails, with "... press any key," which reboots the system. Sorry, not at the unit at the moment, so above is from memory. will be checking x86-64 in the next few days.
x86-64 optical is now ok - presents HDD grub menu. USB: choosing boot from Harddisk blanks the screen for a second, then re-presents the USB grub menu :-(
Summary: [6sta1] choosing "Boot from Harddisk" fails with a grub prompt presented => [6sta1] choosing "Boot from Harddisk" fails from USB, represents USB boot menu

If this gets fixed for the Live isos (see bug 16038), won't it then at the same time be fixed for the classical ones? In other words, can't we just close this one as duplicate of bug 16038 and keep that one for all isos?

(In reply to Dick Gevers from comment #6) > This affects Mageia 5.1 LiveDVD 64 bits GNOME dated 07 NOV 2016 01:14:08 CET Either this is a different bug (and a regression) that needs a new bug report, or it's an already known issue that will be fixed only in future releases, not in 5.1 :)

I think so, and update the summary in bug 16038
See bug 16038 for why I don't think it's possible to fix this for USB sticks without breaking it for DVDs.

I agree with marja on that other bug report. Let's remove it for Mageia 6 and add a better option for Mageia 7 if needed (one that does pause, ask for device removal, then reboot).
Priority: Normal => High
Target Milestone: --- => Mageia 6

I doubt "Boot from harddisk" got removed on the Classical isos.
