In Plasma, the "Add Panel" function makes Plasma to crash. A salvage reboot is the only way to reboot. But after the reboot, the panel is there.

Still valid with Mageia-6-sta1-x86_64-DVD from May 20

Somebody on MLO forum found out a workaround.
Open the /home/user/.config/kwinrc file and in the [Compositing] part, set the "Enable" entry to "false".

I can confirm this. The reason I was adding a Panel, is because after the upgrade from Mageia 5, all I had was an empty panel. Once I removed that one, a regular default panel appeared in the same position (bottom of the screen).
Comment 4 David Walser 2016-08-10 00:30:27 CEST
I don't experience this anymore in current Cauldron. Should be OK on the next ISOs.

FYI, it works fine on Linux Mint 18
Comment 11 Nicolas Lécureuil 2017-02-26 10:52:11 CET
Yes but plasma 5.6 if if i read correctly, so maybe a regression upstream regarding this.
