Hi, This is an upstream bug: https://sourceforge.net/p/lxde/bugs/814/. GPicView doesn't play animated GIF files correctly. Frames change only on right-click. I found a thread about this problem in an Arch Linux forum: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=195311. The problem seems to come from some changes in gdk-pixbuf2 and a solution is given. Best regards, Nico.

Would you please attach a couple animated gif images to this bug that are giving you this problem. Thanks.

I hope these might be of some use Bill.
Thanks. I'll tinker with this tomorrow ( Monday, 18 Apr 16 )
As you are simply testing things there is no harm in downloading images from the web, like Peter Niven Digital Design at https://goatsgraphics.wordpress.com/2014/03/22/animated-gifs-are-fun/. Try entering "examples of animated gif images" into your browser as well. eom seems to work with everything I have tried so that would give you an idea how they should look.
Sorry to keep interrupting the flow but I may have contravened the regulations here. It was a case of shoot first and ask questions later. Uploading third party images to the database may not be appropriate so I might have to delete them or get somebody in sysadmin to do it.

I've actually done that before testing image processing apps.
