Description William Kenney 2016-04-15 04:05:31 CEST
Description of problem:

Create a simple test.txt document of any size. Save that file to /Documents
Place a .jpg file to be used as desktop wallpaper in /Pictures
Using System Settings and make that .jpg file your desktop wallpaper
Drag a couple launch icons from the Menu to the desktop.
Open Dolphin and left button click on /Documents/test.txt
The entire desktop shifts left and basically falls off the table never to return.
Comparing this performance to Kubuntu and openSUSE neither exhibit this effect.

you mention dolphin and kubuntu, so this must be in plasma5

Just out of curiosity tried to reproduce it by your step-by-step instructions here but was unsuccessfull...
Just kwrite opened the test.txt file and everything was OK.

I'd kinda wait for the first Live media before I really start to work on this.
There's been so many changes who knows what this is. I'm just dealing with
it for now until the Lives show up.

N.B. Note the similarity between this report and:

   https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18023

I suspect both phenomena are caused by the same underlying factor(s).

Yup I agree and a host of other funny things going on inside Plasma right now.

It appears after a clean install using boot.iso today that this fault is cured. Marking as resolved for now.

Using the new set of isos dated:

CI: 05/20/16
Live: 05/20/16

If you install using the CI this problem is fixed.
If you use, or install, using the Live medias this problem exists.
Only in Plasma

Are you sure the Lives you used were from the 20th of May, and not from the 22nd?

The Lives I used are dated the 22nd. Is that a problem?
