Almost every time I boot either the panel or desktop or both do not load. If I log out and back in it loads.I am using gnome desktop so it must be in gdm. Thank  for a good new alternative.

If speedboot is enabled try disabling it by booting with:
speedboot=no

(add it to the kernel cmd when booting, at the GRUB menu stage).

1. Did you try Ahmad's suggestion
2. Do you still have the same problem in current cauldron or mageia 1 with updates

I did reply sorry if it did not go through. It still happens on the eight or tenth time I boot up. Not as bad as at first. I just replied through email And it bounced. may be what happened to previous reply.  thank you

I tried ahmad's suggestion . That helped. I am duel booting if that makes a difference. Thanks again
