Description Len Lawrence 2016-03-28 14:16:20 CEST
Description of problem:
Single desktop install from 6dev1 classic DVD iso goes smoothly. First reboot allows system configuration including system updates to new kernel. Reboot required. Reboot dropped to emergency mode immediately but there was no response to root password or Ctrl-D. Problem around start of dkms-autoinstaller - kernel header files not installed - no nvidia module rebuild. Cold reboot failed on recovery mode in a similar way. Tried to revert to the original kernel on another reboot and could get no further than the switch to nouveaufb.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Mageia-6-dev1-x86_64-DVD

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install GNOME desktop only and reboot
2. Update system including nonfree, backports and tainted repositories
3. Reboot
Comment 1 Len Lawrence 2016-03-28 18:43:33 CEST
Second attempt at installing GNOME alone on the same hardware succeeded without errors. There must have been finger trouble at some point - might have been selecting install from DVD without thinking. USB on the second try.
