many severe bugs have been closed in glusterfs - the latest stable release for this branch was released in march (http://blog.nixpanic.net/2016/03/glusterfs-358-is-out.html) I would highly apreciate an update at least to the latest version in the branch. To have latest version (as available in cauldron) in backports would be great.

This package doesn't build in mga5 due to missing BuildRequire dep. userspace-rcu-devel If somebody want to jump in and build userspace-rcu-devel into backports, I am OK.

Thomas, thanks for your reply. I'm ok with it for now. I've droped use of gluster due to severe performance problems. Maybe I'll try it again if the newest release is available.
I tried to build it this morning after backporting the dep. It did build with minor changes in the spec (python2 vs. python) However, glusterfs-ganesha will have a missing dep, pcs because I still haven't been able to build it in cauldron. If QA (and you) will be OK with that, I can do the backport. It will just be missing a nice feature.

as far as I can see, ganesha is a new additional feature to gluster and the old nfs-server is still available. So I don't see why not backport, if only this feature is missing, on the other hand many other good new features are available
The packages are in backport_testing. Let me know how your testing goes.
No response in over a year and a half and the maintainer is no longer with us. We probably won't be doing any more backports for Mageia 5 also. Closing this.
