Description Thomas Andrews 2016-03-14 03:05:19 CET
Description of problem: Display breaks up at random times on real hardware using Intel 810 or higher graphics driver.

This bug first appeared during the testing of kernel 4.1.8 in Mageia 5. Bug#16655
Another user reported it in Bug#17081, and the "fix" is described there.

Once the extra OPTION line is added to xorg.conf it remains through subsequent kernel updates and the problem stays away.

While the fix is easy enough to do, most users would not know to do it. It would be best if the user didn't encounter it at all.

Comment 1 Thomas Andrews 2019-02-22 22:34:25 CET
This bug eventually went away on its own, as far as I know. The workaround from Mageia 5 is no longer needed.

I'm going to call it "fixed."
