In the logs, I see: * running: /bin/systemctl disable --no-reload nscd.service with root /mnt Removed symlink /etc/systemd/system/sockets.target.wants/nscd.socket. Removed symlink /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/nscd.service. What is the output of (as root) systemctl -a | grep nscd
It has no output. But systemctl status nscd.service gives: nscd.service - Name service Cache Daemon Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/system/nscd.service; disabled; vendor present: enabled) Active: inactive dead So it is ambiguous: I don't want to see "loaded" and "enabled" because during install it was deselected and should not show such, IMHO.

I think installer did what it should do. Re-assigning to tmb (glibc/nscd maintainer) for comment on your wish.
