Please read this and then give a good reason why you think it would be valid to break our updates policy in this case. https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Updates_policy 4.7 (or later) will be in Mageia 6.
Sorry Marja, Next time I will give the reason to upgrade. ;-) https://ardour.org/whatsnew.html I can wait for mageia 6. I just tought it would be nice to have it on mageia 5. Regards
BTW, I always get a window that shows error: Jack can't use real-time scheduling (RR/5). I am new to the whole audio scene, and i'm still not quite sure what jack actually does or why. The info found on google doesn't seem to apply to mageia. I can't seem to find etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf And a "solution" (Link Below) -> Can you please attach /etc/security/limits.conf and confirm that this user in in the audio groups. Link: -> https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntustudio/+bug/1422682 Does't seem to work or I don't know how to do it since I don't see any groups called Audio. Any help would be appreciated. Regards
Jack in Mageia 5 is not configured for real time scheduling, it will be in Mageia 6. There will be a short instruction displayed during installation of Ardour explaining how to add yourself to the audio and realtime groups. There will be nothing more to do. I would advise that you wait for Mageia 6 or even test the release candidates when they are released.
Thank you Barry for the recommendation My friend will have to wait for Mageia 6 to be released to be able to use Ardour 4. I already have Mageia 6 on my laptop. ;-) You guys are amazing. Regards,
I think this is resolved. ;-) Regards
