Do you happen to know whether gdm also fails after selecting gnome one screen earlier (in the desktop selection screen) during install?

I meant to say: installing gnome from the three option -kde, gnome + other page installs also plasma5. see bug Bug 17952 this presents the sddm login screen. choosing gnome here presents the gnome desktop. how-ever as it also installed all of the plasma5 programmes,(and I prefer to test a single DE set of applications at a time), I reinstalled from the "other"selection page. then the reboot failed and I had to change desktop managers.
