every error demonstration

Hi guys!
There are some anomalies in relation to the ZTE MF195 modem.
First, when connecting devices created:
/dev/ttyACM0
/dev/ttyACM1

As a result, network management program can not configure the modem, because the
/dev/ttyACM00 it is seek.
In the meantime solve a symlink.
su
cd / dev /
ln -s ttyACM0 ttyACM00

Then you can be set to "GPRS/EDGE/3G" option, as it is a mobile stick.
Also asks for a PIN, find the line and managed to congratulate and wish to join.
Yes. - All works fine on the net.
the clock next small icon to changes small blue globe.

The following files are created:

/etc/sysconfig/network-script/chat-ppp0
/etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-ppp0

The latter must also be edited
modemport=/dev/ttyACM0 - that not search ttyACM00

If you then click on the globe icon, it is quite interesting things have been displayed.
Mobile stick as a "wired (Ethernet)" shows a "enp0s29f7u3i5" ID and also sign that this is the ZTE MF195.
However, in this so you can impossible connect.
Close this window.
The globe icon right click and look "Analog dial-up modem (POTS) (ppp0)"
option, and it works.
However, here it is not adjustable.

It would be good right do this section.

Did you first use drakconnect => GPRS/Edge/3G
to add it?
http://doc.mageia.org/mcc/5/en/content/drakconnect.html

IINM mistaken, some forums users have similar dongles, CC'ing doktor5000 who'll know

NO! Because drakconnect find device /dev/ttyACM00 and stopped. But there nothing.
Since this is just /dev/ttyACM0 and /dev/ttyACM1
So first it has to be resolved /dev/ttyACM00
It was a symlink.
And only then could add to the drakconnect
GPRS/Edge/3G
I wrote it so we all went well. He could connect to the internet.
After all..

But then the globe icon click left why else is there?
*drakconnect error01.png
The last entry is not GPRS/Edge/3G - This is BUG!

If click right the globe icon then entry
Analog telephone modem (POTS) (ppp0) - this also BUG!
*right click error.png
Each from operates independently from here up and down connections.
but if just right-click.

Thanks.

This part of this bug report is a duplicate of bug 10854

Do you mind attaching screenshots?

I confirm that I've seen GPRS/Edge/3G shown as Analog telephone modem (POTS) (ppp0) (both in Mga5 and cauldron), but you are talking about 2 bugs... screenshots help :-)

Sorry, I'm rather tired because of a health issue.

You already attached the screenshot showing that netapplet shows
GPRS/Edge/3G shown as Analog telephone modem (POTS) (ppp0)

However, I don't understand the other issue

Assigning to maintainer, anyway, because the other issue will either need a separate bug report, or have the same cause

Side note:
For Cauldron, I found a recent screenshot where it looks as it should in draknetcenter
http://waesvanm.home.xs4all.nl/Mageia/Pictures/draknetcenter.png

However, I do now understand that the first bug Mészáros mentioned was that for him it was totally missing from the draknetcenter list in Mga5

@ Mészáros

Is that correct?

Yes.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I have a ZTE MF730M broadband dongle:
Mageia 5 and cauldron recognise this device as an Ethernet device. In "Set up an Internet Connection" and in Network Centre it is listed as a "Wired" connection. However, the sub-text in Network Centre correctly describes it as a "Mobile Broadband Station".

Hi Mészáros, I don't know what it showed, I only had the screenshot.

But can you see whether this issue got fixed in Mageia 6?

Sounds like a similar, but different issue to me.
Comment 10 Mészáros Csaba 2018-04-25 13:59:14 CEST
Unfortunately, I can not help, because the device is not available. Sorry.

Thanks for replying and no problem, I'll close this report as OLD.

If the same issue persists in Mageia 6 or later, someone will be annoyed enough to file a new bug report or reopen this one :-)
