Advisory: Updated nvidia304 drivers This update provides upstream nvidia304 driver version 304.131 that fixes a bug that could cause texture corruption in some OpenGL applications when video memory is exhausted by a combination of simultaneously running graphical and compute workloads. Installed mga5-64 from dkms and x11-driver package. installed doc, cuda as well. Rebooted, graphics came up normally, no regressions noted.

Installed 32-bit server kernel packages, no problems noted. Hardware: Sempron 3100+ processor, AGP Geforce 6200OC video card.
CC: (none) => andrewsfarm
Qualifying my OK as being for 32-bit server kernel, as that's the only one I can test.

Athlon x2-3800, old nvidia I tried installing: nvidia304-kernel-4.1.15-desktop-2.mga5-304.131-1.mga5.nonfree.i586.rpm nvidia304-kernel-4.1.15-desktop586-2.mga5-304.131-1.mga5.nonfree.i586.rpm It did not go well to say the least. Attaching journal file of activity for Feb 10th.

Created attachment 7442 [details] journal file from patching and then adding new nvidia (did try to back-out)
I'll need to look at that again in the morning, eyes aren't working properly tonight. It looks though that you originally updated nvidia304 prebuilt kmods without the x11-driver-video-nvidia304. Later you tried nvidia-current and then went on to dkms-nvidia304, this time with the x11-driver-video-nvidia304. If using dkms packages, ensure you have the matching kernel-*-devel-latest packages installed for whichever kernel you're using. dkms needs them to be able to build the module. I *think* this is just a bit of a mix up but will need to look again tmrw. Thomas tmb can you confirm?
I think I found it, will try the patch again. Mixed server/desktop. Removed server - back up, will try desktop nvidia again.
