This happens also on already installed cauldrons where MageiaWelcome used to start fine, too since some days (XFCE + Plasma5). I'm *not* 100% sure it is since the update to mageiawelcome-1.4-1.mga6, but it is possible. I do not have a .mageiawelcome/ so there is no norun.flag either (Now creating an empty .mageiawelcome/ to see whether that makes a difference. If so I'll tell in another comment within 15 minutes. If it doesn't, then I won't) @ Daniel: I assigned to you, because you're the author of MageiaWelcome, and the one most likely to figure out fast where it goes wrong. Feel free to reassign to pkg-bugs@ml.mageia.org if there is nothing you can do. CC'ing papoteur, in case this has to do with the python2->python3 switch
