Mageia should have grml zsh as it provides very good default settings to zsh. This would be easy just install and change default shell to zsh and use,nothing configuration is needed by user side. How arch linux have get it working without conflict with zsh itself ?. Yes it overide them as it should do it,otherwise that whole settings system would newer work with systemwide install.
