LXDM does not take care of users' faces that are stored in /usr/share/faces in Mga5 and Cauldron. It only searches for $HOME/.face file or for a key in /var/lib/AccountsService/users/$USER file.
For Cauldron, pkg lxdm-0.5.3-2.mga6 corrects the problem.

Testing M5 x64 real h/w First thing: when changing the Display Manager in Mageia Control Centre, it was/is necessary to re-boot for it to take effect. BEFORE update Using LXDM not only did it not show the 'face' [which existed] in /usr/share/faces/ , but not that in $HOME/.face/ either! It used its own default image. (I only had a login image in the first; the second directory did not exist. So I created it and copied the image file to it. It may be that it should have been called $HOME/.faces for the image to be found). AFTER update to lxdm-0.5.0-3.2.mga5 Removed $HOME/.face/ to leave just /usr/share/faces/ [with a login image]. Re-booted. LXDM then correctly showed the image in /usr/share/faces/ in the user list. Update OK.
