Description of problem: Since pre-christmas updates of qt5 (5.6.0-0.beta); kf5 (5.17) and plasma (5.5.2) - it became impossible to start Plasma 5 desktop any more. Instead of desktop a Plasma5 Next wallpaper or just black screen is shown with an error message (see attached screenshot). Trying to restart Plasma returns to the same screen. For the record, I observed the same behaviour after that update. Not saying that the cause is the same, but in my case it was due to libqsqlite.so not being updated. The missing update may be related to the package containing it changing name to lib64qt5-database-plugin-sqlite (from qtbase5-database-plugin-sqlite, I think) and/or to the following log: "No xml info for medium "Core Release (distrib1)", only partial result for package lib64qt5-database-plugin-sqlite-5.6.0-0.beta.4.mga6.x86_64" After removing the old package and installing lib64qt5-database-plugin-sqlite, I was again able to start the Plasma Desktop.

Thanks Arne! That explains why Plasma Desktop worked after today's fresh install. So I myself can't test your solution any more, but another Mageia user here can. I'll try to get the information from him and post here...
I can confirm, that this package (lib64qt5-database-plugin-sqlite) upgrade made that another Mageia user Plasma 5 desktop to work OK.
Thanks for the debugging, two other bugs reported the same issue and came to the same conclusions, so I'll close this one. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 17371 ***
